History of Chilli Gone Barmy Ltd
I have three big passions in life - one of them is cooking food! I decided to fulfill this dream by becoming a professional chef!
I already have a wealth of experience from working as a chef in a bistro, running a pub restaurant in Ipswich and catering for private parties and festivals.
Which leads me onto my second passion: - VW Splitscreen campers! I love everything about them - the look of them, how they drive, the culture they represent, the freedom, the friendly atmosphere they generate everywhere they go and the talking point of course. I believe my Australian VW Splitscreen is rather unique as there are only three ever made in the world to the best of my knowledge. - I know for sure there isn’t another one in UK!
I decided to source my Chilli Gone Barmy van from Los Angeles in October 2008. It had ended up in Los Angeles from Australia. At the time it looked nothing like it does now, so once I had it shipped over from Los Angeles I had a lot of work to do to convert it to a kitchen and what it is today. I hope you agree it is pretty special.
My third big passion is people and festivals! I have always enjoyed going to festivals in my spare time but noticed that there was limited choice when it came to the food offered. The food is often processed, mass-produced and not cooked from fresh - served from a plain, uninspiring unit.
This is when my idea for Chilli Gone Barmy Ltd was born - I want to offer fresh, high quality, tasty food for everyone to enjoy from a unique vehicle that adds to the spirit of your event!
I hope I have inspired you to try Chilli Gone Barmy Ltd - I hope to meet you soon!
